Our club was founded in 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. A group of like minded folks began to meet regularly for a cigar over a period of a few months and began to share ideas and opinions on cigar and pipe smoking.
It was noticed that although we represented a large difference in ages, employment, and interests, everyone got along quite well. We soon found that we enjoyed meeting with friends to enjoy cigars and a good conversation.
Soon different smoking issues became part of the conversation, including protecting the rights of tobacco smokers. Legislation was rapidly advancing through the legal system that threatened to prohibit smoking in any public place. It was because of this that the cigar club was born. The original intent was to provide education to fellow smokers about the upcoming prohibitive legislation against smoking in public.
Later, this expanded to encourage support for the CIGAR RIGHTS OF AMERICA. (Cursor over to link)
As the group has grown, it has begun to be more civic minded in its focus, and has participated in several volunteer community events with great success. This leads us to the present, where our club continues to flourish and grow.
